How Do I Create an AR image?

The images used in AR are no different to any other image in that they don’t have any special attributes added to make them an image. An AR image does however contain enough detail in it to allow a mobile device camera to easily recognize it and launch the corresponding AR experience from it. The more definition and contrast the better.

The way image recognition works in AR is that when you upload an image to an AR platform the technology creates an AR image reference map, similar to a star map, of all of the key reference points in the image. It is this image reference map that the camera is working to when trying to recognize an image; hence the more points of reference (detail) the easier the map becomes for the camera to identify. The less contrast and detail, the fewer points of reference and the harder it becomes for the camera to differentiate the image from others that may be in an AR image database and the higher the likelihood that the AR experience won’t work.

Augmented Reality (AR) images are becoming increasingly popular in the digital world, and creating them is relatively simple. In this article, we will be discussing the steps involved in creating an AR image using tools like Adobe Photoshop and Unity 3D. We’ll also talk about the various use cases of AR images and how they can be used to create immersive experiences for users. Finally, we’ll take a look at some of the best practices for creating high-quality AR images.

With augmented reality, you can bring your images to life by adding interactive elements to them, making them more engaging and immersive. You can use this technology in various fields such as marketing, gaming or education.
